2019 Canada West Results
The Rockets had two skaters who earn a spot on Team BC for the 2019 Canada West Short Track Championship in Grande Prairie, Alberta, March 23rd and 24th. The BC Short Track Championship was the qualifying competition for the Train to Train (T2T) skaters to compete in their respective age and gender category at Canada West. Participating provinces were Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, NWT, Yukon and BC, and each province was given a set number of skaters they could bring to Canada West.
Lan-Vi Nguyen, T2T F14, and Wilfred Chan, T2T M14 “burned the ice” in Grande Prairie that week end. Lan-Vi brought back the Silver medal in her category finishing 1st in the 1500m; 2nd in the 200m Pursuit and 2nd in the 3000m Point Race. Wilfred had a great showing for his 1st year in competitive speed skating. He skated among a very tough field and posted a Personal Best in the 400m. Congratulations Lan-Vi and Wilfred!
