Richmond Rockets Bring Home Medals at the Canadian Youth Short Track Championships 

The Canadian Youth Short Track Speed Skating Championships were held this past weekend in Kamloops.

The Richmond Rockets were part of a contingent of elite athletes representing British Columbia.

Carly Bastien displayed consistency in her speed and endurance, winning Bronze Medals in three women’s events: 400m, 800m and 1500m. 

Alice Yaxuan Guo shook off jet lag after arriving from Brisbane, Australia the night before and won the Silver Medal in the Women’s 800m.

Not to be outdone, Ethan Leung won the Bronze Medal in the Men’s 400m and Magnus King won the Bronze Medal in the Men’s 1500m.

Finally, competing in her first national championship was newcomer Audrey Chuah, finishing just out of the medals in both the Women’s 800m and 1500m.

The Richmond Rockets Skaters won half of the medals for British Columbia and it was a great way to cap off the season!
