SANCTION: SSBC sanction

FORMAT: Ability Meet. This will be the last meet to improve on or acquire your qualifying times for the BCST Championships in March.

  • BCST Age-eligible skaters include Pre-Youth to Masters age class categories as of June 30, 2023.
  • There will be 4 races per division.  Distances will be age-class appropriate.
  • PLEASE NOTE – distance races may be subject to change.  Skaters must declare their intent to skate in relays during the registration process. Final confirmation from coaches will be obtained before the creation of RELAY teams.
    • Club Skater Division
      • Proposed distances on 100m track – 200m or 400m / 400m or 800m/ 200m or 400m/ 100m or 200m.   A full day of skating,  No Relays
    • Pre-YTH and Youth Divisions.
      • Proposed distances on 100m  track – 400m Heat/Finals, 1500 SF, and/or Relays
      • Skaters not participating in Relays will skate a single distance 4th race.
    • Neo-Jr and Junior Divisions
      • Proposed distances on 111.2m track – 500m Heat/Finals, 1500 SF, and/or Relays
      • Skaters not participating in Relays will skate a single distance 4th race.
    • Seniors/Masters/SO
      • Proposed distances on 111.2m track – 500m/ 777m/ 1500m/ 500m
      • No Relays
    • Active Starts – as per their respective club coach’s recommendation. Skating is scheduled during lunch hour.  Maximum 6 skaters.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: As per SSBC competition regulations

REGISTRATION FEE: $60 per skater ($30 for Active Starts)

DEADLINES: 

  • Registration Deadline: February 2nd, 2024 @11:59pm PST
  • Volunteer Registration Deadline: February 7th, 2024 
  • Scratch deadline is February 12th, 2024 @ 7:00pm.  No@11:30pm PST refunds after this date.
  • Processing fees are non-refundable

Invitation to Register for the RROC has been sent to Club contacts by email.  

Registration

  • WAITLIST:  If registration is full, please click on the WAITLIST option to add your name to the waitlist.  After registration is closed, we will review the skater registration numbers and will contact you when a spot(s) becomes available.
  • SEED TIMES: Skaters will be seeded from submitted PBs that were raced between August 2022 to February 3, 2024.  If no sanctioned times were entered during registration, the skater will be seeded last.  If you are a new skater, coaches will be contacted and times at practice will be accepted.
  • Out of Province Skaters: you will require liability insurance from your association and your medical coverage.
  • Registration closes on FEBRUARY 2nd, 2024 at 11:59 pm PST or when spots are full.

SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY,   IF YOU FEEL UNWELL PLEASE STAY HOME

For the T-Shirts, we are going to use a local vendor therefore, the sizes will be sizes that you would expect to see here.  I have attached an Adult size chart accordingly.   Unfortunately, I do not have a youth size chart at this time.

 

Volunteers

Parent Volunteer Opportunities and Instructions

  • Register as a volunteer for the meet in IceReg to ensure that all volunteers are insured during the competition.  Must have a current SSC/SSBC membership status.
  • A volunteer membership is required. Non-Richmond Rockets members who are not yet members will be redirected to their Club registration site.  You will then register as a member to acquire an SSC ID (with your respective club first) and this will enable you to register as a volunteer at this event and future SSBC and SSC-sanctioned events this season.
  • Lunch is provided for full-day registered Officials, Volunteers, and Coaches who are on our Master list. Last-minute add-ons will be at the discretion of the Meet Coordinator.
  • Volunteer, Official, and Coach Registration will be sent separately, closes February 7, 2024 11:59 pm

Seeding

This year, we are asking skaters/parents to be prepared to enter their PBs(personal best times), and when/where it was achieved during the registration process.  (For example, 500m, 0:54.670, Langley 2023) during registration.

FAQs

1 – Why am I categorized as a Junior when I am a Senior/Master; Child when I am a Pre-YTH; Senior/Master when I am Neo-JR/Junior?

Since this interclub meet is treated as an ability meet, your seedtime placed you in an appropriate division to race with times close to yours and ensure/consider the safety of all skaters.  

2 – Did I qualify to skate at BCST 2024?  

Your age category must meet the age requirement as of June 30, 2023.  Qualified times – PB’s achieved from August 2022. 

Pre-Youth 400m < 58.00   

Youth F 400m < 55.00 

Youth M 400m < 52.00 

NeoJunior F 500m < 1:05.00 

NeoJunior M 500m < 1:00.00 

Open – F 500m < 1:05.00 

Open M 500m < 1:00.00
